Mauthausen or other known as (KZ Mauthausen-Gusen) was a Concentration camp located in Austria. This camp was constructed within 13 months by prisoners of the KL Gusen II concentration camp within the Mauthausen-Gusen complex due to its high mortality (up to 98%), it became one of the most horrible concentration camp sites in European history. If you were a prisoner of Mauthausen, the maximum time you would of survived was 4 months. The men would of died off quicker because of the hard labor. Mauthausen was also the only concentration camp where first experimental gazations were carried out in March 1942, other punishments that were at that camp was the epidemic typhus.Mauthausen was liberated on May 5th, 1945.
